Phil Garris (right) and Steve Blanchard first became involved in Talent
Quest Florida after Phil won the state title in 2001. Phil competed at
the national level for several years after that, placing in the top 20 in
both the Men's Pop and Men's Country categories. In 2005, Talent
Quest National owner Tim Brown approached the two about rebooting
the regional competition in Florida and the first rebranded Florida
regional took place at Grand Central Station, a bar in St. Petersburg,
with 15 contestants.
After two years of growth, Steve began emceeing the regional finals and
now fills that role at local finals and at the Florida regionals each
summer. The competition is now held each summer at the Marriott
Westshore Hotel in Tampa and averages 250-300 performers.

Women's Country categories. She remains the only contestant to
hold dual titles in one year at Talent Quest Florida.
Since her win, Jenny has continued to compete on the national
level, placing in the top 10 in both categories. In 2010 she was
second runner up in Women's Pop and third runner up in Women's
Country at the national level.

named Associate Director of the competition and assists with
contestant preparation, securing venues and locating sponsors.

Trevor Keller joined the Talent Quest Florida team in 2008 when
he was asked to be a judge at the Regional Finals held at the
Ritz Ybor Theater. Keller is the artistic director and founder of
Gypsy Productions, a professional theater group, and was
trained in classical and opera music. He is also a professional
actor.
In 2009 Keller became the judging coordinator for Talent Quest
Florida and he is responsible for finding and training the judges
who appear at the regional finals each year. Since joining TQFL,
he has also served on the judging panel for the national Talent
Quest competition and works as the judging coordinator for
Talent Quest East Florida and Talent Quest Sunshine State.
