DUNEDIN--For the second year in a row, Blur brought out a huge crowd to usher in the local finals
of Talent Quest Florida.
"It's like returning home," said Phil Garris, contest co-owner and head judge. "Blur and the staff are
so supportive of this contest and it really showed with the level of talent out tonight."
The largest categories were the men and women's pop categories. Unfortunately not everyone
could advance to regionals, but the scores were some of the highest so far this season.
"This was number 18 in our trek across Florida this year," said Steve Blanchard, show emcee and
TQFL co-owner. "I was looking at the scores and almost every singer scored above a 100."
The judging scale reaches up to 150.
In all, 21 singers advanced to finals and will vie for a chance to win a trip to nationals in Laughlin,
Nevada, this September. Contestants at the Florida regional will also compete for karaoke
packages provided by Chartbusters Karaoke. For more information on Chartbusters, click on the
