FORT LAUDERDALE--The Dive Bar brought out some of the best talent over a very busy weekend
for Talent Quest Florida. A packed house cheered on large groups of performers in pop and
country categories.
"This is the way a contest is supposed to be run," said Steve Blanchard, emcee and TQFL co-owner.
"The talent was incredible, the bar was very welcoming and we had a great time."
The talent definitely had the judges talking after the competition.
"Fort Lauderdale is going for the title this year," said Phil Garris, TQFL co-owner and head judge.
"Everyone was so talented and you could tell they researched what we were looking for. The
judges had a great time and it's not often we can say that for an entire competition."
This was the first time that The Dive Bar had been affiliated with Talent Quest Florida and it
wrapped up the "south Florida swing" of this year's competition.
"We're exhausted but we had an incredible time," said Garris. "We can't wait to see everyone in
July."
The Talent Quest Florida 2009 Regional Finals are once again at The Ritz Ybor in Tampa July 10, 11,
and 12. Contestants advance to the regionals for free. Tickets to the finals are available on our
