LAKE WORTH It was a small
crowd at The Bar on July 14, but
the talent was anything but.
 For the second time Talent
Quest Florida invaded the small,
eastern most bar on the 2011
route.
"It was loud and crowded in here
tonight but we have several stand
outs," said Phil Garris, co-owner
of the competition and head judge.
"We also saw a few familiar faces
and it was great to reunite with
them again."
Only eight contestants signed up for the contest and a few participated in dual categories-so
the contest itself didn't last long. But those that did participate seemed excited to advance
onto the regional finals slated for July 28-31 at the Double Tree Westshore Hotel.
"I'm always interested to hear what the contestants say to the judges after the contest is
over," said emcee and contest co-host Steve Blanchard. "You can hear the excitement in their
voice as they're talking about critiques and what to expect at the next level. I think a few of
these singers will do well in Tampa.
One lone male contestant entered the competition and advanced in the pop category at The
Bar. The women sang mostly pop songs, with two contestants participating in Masters.
Talent Quest 2011 is expecting nearly 300 singers to compete at this year's regional finals.
Lake Worth is among 14 venues participating this year.
