Phil Garris looks and speaks like a country singer, but most fans are
surprised to hear songs from Broadway hits during his shows. His Studio
Album, This Is The Moment, boasts a wide variety of pop, Broadway and

Phil Garris grew up in a small Louisiana town just a few miles south of the
Arkansas border. When he wasn't working on his family's 76-acre farm, he
was in church singing. When he left home and moved to Memphis, Phil
sang in several bars and night clubs - namely 501, Back Street and
Amnesia. After taking several trips to St. Louis to perform, Phil liked the
city and decided to relocate. He was a popular entertainer at Magnolia's,
The Complex, the Grey Fox and Faces. It was another road trip that would
eventually change his address again. This time he went to Columbia, MO,
with friends and found he loved the city. It was big enough to offer singing
venues and a nightlife, but small enough to remind him of his rural roots.
He was on the stage at Styx Bar and Contacts numerous times.Phil landed
in Florida in 2000 when his partner, Steve, landed a job and was ready to
escape the cold weather. On a visit to Fort Myers, Phil found Unity Gain
Studios, where he recorded his album. In 2004, he moved to St. Petersburg,
where he has performed at Grand Central Station, Suncoast Resort and at
the St. Pete Pride Street Festival. He is happy to have been a part of the
inaugural Winter Pride Tampa Bay event in February 2006.He has also
performed at the Stonewall Festival in Fort Lauderdale the past 2 years. He
hopes that his reintroduction to the stage will not only bring fans, but a
chance to reenter the studio and produce another album.Phil lives in St.
Petersburg with his partner, Steve.
