TAVARES--What Sports Time Bar And Grille lacked in crowd, it made up for in talent at the Tavares
local finals on Sunday, April 19.
"I'd much prefer quality over quantity anytime," said Phil Garris, head judge and Talent Quest
Florida co-owner. "I don't think there was a bad singer in the group."
The somewhat muted contest only produced 11 singers overall, but some singers could be strong
contenders for the regional finals.
"I think everyone had a good time and everyone seemed really into the competition," said Steve
Blanchard, emcee and co-owner. "The one thing i love about going to new venues like this is the
people we get to meet. We walk in, have no idea what we're going to see and end up meeting some
amazing people. Sports Time was absolutely no exception."
The Talent Quest Florida 2009 Regional Finals are once again at The Ritz Ybor in Tampa July 10, 11,
and 12. Contestants advance to the regionals for free. Tickets to the finals are available on our
Tickets Page.
